The Road to Second Chance – Chapter 2

Things are moving fairly fast for us, and we have decided (thanks to some really dedicated and passionate people!) to go ahead and start the process to gain the status of a 501(c)(3) for our Second Chance Rehabilitation Center/Foundation/project.

“A 501(c) organization, also known colloquially as either a 501(c) or a “nonprofit“, is an American tax-exempt nonprofit organization. Section 501(c) of the United States Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. § 501(c)) provides that 29 types of nonprofit organizations are exempt from some federal income taxes.”

“501(c)(3) — Religious, Educational, Charitable, Scientific, Literary, Testing for Public Safety, to Foster National or International Amateur Sports Competition, or Prevention of Cruelty to Children or Animals Organizations.”

I’m really glad to have so many great people on our side, who are as passionate and eager as we are, to see this project come to life!
