“And We’re Back – Solgave’s Community Pack Walk – April”

After several month’s away from our monthly Community Pack Walk that our local pet sitting, dog walking, and professional house sitting company hosts for the public in the parks and trails of the Fayetteville, Rogers, Bella Vista, and Bentonville area….there was anxiety, excitement, and to be honest… a bit of uncertainty.

As one of the co-founders of Solgave Animal Solutions, and someone who’s been out of the country as we explored some options in my wife’s home country, I wanted to “ease” back into what was a tremendous backbone of our company and it’s ethos.

Nature, animals, healing, and balance were the cornerstones of this brand we developed, and it’s really less a brand and more a philosophy on life.  So after putting on 15 monthly walks for the community and our beloved dogs in a row, the exhaustion of that feat alone was psychologically wearing me down. But…new life is about to spring forth!

Our first walk was at Gulley Park, and my wife was 7 months pregnant.  She would be doing behavior modification cases almost up until his birth.

As fate would have it, he was born on a pack walk planned June 23rd, 2013…the only walk I had ever missed. (while being in the states)

Our mantra this year is rebirth, and that’s what I feel happening with our Pack Walk’s.

Sunday we got the unique, and unplanned privilege, of  helping a client who had been desperately needing assistance with a very large, very heavy, very strong pulling dog with the benefits of FaceTime and one of our former mentors, friends, and co-trainers…Tricia Jennings.

As fate would have it, we also had a surprise visit by a couple of representatives of the  Humane Society of the Ozarks who brought two amazing dogs that are up for adoption!

Bojo to the far left, and Simon (black) are two BEAUTIFUL AND SWEET souls that I wanted to take home myself.

And for the first time since we’ve had monthly walks for two years we got to see a Weimereiner from the Weimereiner Rescue.

To finish up a nice “We’re Back” Pack Walk we had two of our new staff members, Aaron and Erinn, and one of these two (guess which?) made some amazing homemade dog treats!

Inside the balls you find peanut butter, oats, and pumpkin! I an tell you from the response from the dogs, these were a HUGE TREAT!!  The baked treats were made with eggs, whole wheat flour, pumpkin, peanut butter, and greek yogurt!  Coconut oil is a typical staple ingredient for preparing both of these! I think we don’t need to outsource our treats anymore, because there may be something special brewing here and I suspect you’ll see them for sale at our next walk!

After the anxiety, the gap of time of having no walks, it felt so good to put that tent up again, see the smiles of people have problems solved, and witnessing what nature and animals and community can do to one’s soul.
